The Monte Bar & Casino logo

Our story

Built by family. Kept for the neighborhood.

Every bar has a story. Ours mostly starts with a lot of lifting.

The curved bar

One very big piece of furniture.

The family tells it like this: the curved bar was built by family members, including the owners’ grandfather and uncles. The section from the round portion to the end arrived as a single piece — big enough that the storefront had to come out to get it inside.

The carpet

A little Stardust underfoot.

According to the family, the carpet is Stardust casino overrun, selected around 1990–1991 to bring a particular vision to life. Its starbursts and long rays inspired the look of this whole site.

Provenance as described by the family.

PBR, always

A longstanding family preference, and a Monte tradition.

Vintage glassware

Collected pieces — like the cactus glass behind the Monte Margarita.

Hospitality first

Conversation and community are still the whole point.
